Sylvia moved and David accepted motion to accept minutes from April
Outdoor Ministry Report
Outdoor ministry update given by visitor Jed Mannis. Ministry has now extended to Central Square and has doubled the number of people served on average to 40-50. Outdoor ministry now extends to the whole day approx. 9a-5p.. Ministers are also providing visits in hospitals and jails as well as assistance with court appearances and other legal issues. They are also coordinating with other social service agencies in Cambridge.
Old Business
Capital campaign will require new committee members over time.
Property Report
Peter Merrell and Michael Young report. They are selecting a contractor for the work involved in the Capital Campaign. See attached memorandum dated 5/16/06. Motion made by Peter Merrell and seconded by David Cameron to approve entering into a line of credit with Wainwright Commnity Bank. Please refer to Recommendations for action in Finance Committee memorandum to Vestry dated 5/16/06, recommendation #1.
Motion made by Mardi Moran and seconded by Ross Speer to accept low bid contractor Abbott. Please refer to Recommendations for action in Finance Committee memorandum to Vestry dated 5/16/06, recommendation #2.
Rectors Exit Report/Meeting
Vestry said good by to Michael and he said good by to them. Review of pertinent observations and recommendations for both.
Commission Focus: Administration & Communication
Mark Agard reports. Tim Lindgren is working on our web page and improving presentation and what is available. Discussion of possible calendar coordinating use of rooms. John Hixson is to start an inventory of St. James’s historical records. John Butler mentions possible party for 150 year anniversary of St. James in 2014.
Commission Reports
Michael Povey’s going away party in process.
GBIO training scheduled for 5/18 $5/15
Worship- Steve Cox reports that Annette Hunter’s cousins have donated $30,000 dollars to the altar guild fund. Items identified are a chalice, and pascal candle holder, advent wreath, and linens for altar and $5,000 dollars to capital campaign. All will have her name on them.
Fellowship – Jacqui
Stewardship- Tom Tufts reports pledges are short thirty thousand from projected budget.
Outreach – Concert 5/1/06 a success and raised $7,000 dollars for food pantry.
Nurture/Education – Trish Morck reports that 2 open table dinners were succesfull. Plans for retreat going well. Youth group not meeting but will plan an end of year activity.
Jed looking for place to store outdoor church cart. Peter Merrell and John Butler to see if we have any space.
