Some hints to make reading go
smoothly:
Arrive at church about 15 minutes
before the service so you can locate your reading and practice it a few
times. The readings are often marked
with a red ribbon in the Bible on the lectern, or printed out on a sheet. But imagine the embarrassment if you have to
hunt a few minutes through the Bible, or figure out which of the readings on the
six sheets placed there is yours, in front of the whole congregation. Another idea is to take the bulletin page
with your reading printed on it up to the lectern with you.
